The Gothic by Professor John Bowen



As the next work that concerns us will be Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein," we might as well gather some notions of what "the Gothic" presupposes: the uncanny, the sublime in nature, eerie realms, the conflict between modernity and past,..Professor Bowen analyzes key concepts in gothic novels.
